Limescale, the whirlpool's greatest enemy

Why do limescale deposits occur?

Minerals are dissolved in all water. The mineral content is higher in hard water than in soft water. As the water evaporates and the whirlpool is refilled with fresh water, the mineral content in the water increases over time. At some point, these minerals begin to deposit as limescale. This process is facilitated by a high pH value. The high pH value is alkaline. Lime is alkaline. This leads to precipitation.

The limescale not only damages the jets and makes your hot tub look unsightly, it can also damage the pumps and the heater.

Important information about the pH value:
Acidic: anything below 7.0
Alkaline: anything above 8.0
The ideal pH value is between 7.0 & 7.6 (then the pH value is neutral)

Solution:
Ensure that the pH value is always in the neutral range. Use sufficient anti-limescale so that the limescale binds and is not deposited in the bath and pipes.
