Hot tub vacuums are incredibly practical: if your hot tub has seen heavy use, or if there are stubborn dirty patches or sand in the tub for some other reason, a hot tub vacuum is the answer! These vacuums don't just suck up dirt like a vacuum cleaner – they always come with a brush too. Use it to scrub off residue and dirt stuck to the floor or walls, while the suction instantly picks up the small particles and removes them from the water.
Hot tub vacuums can be designed very differently. That's why, when buying one, you should check carefully which features a particular model offers, so that it meets your needs. The differences start with the cleaning power itself: every hot tub vacuum can clean the floor of a pool – but the walls are another matter! So make sure the model you want is explicitly designed to clean walls as well. If you own an inflatable hot tub and want to vacuum it, bear in mind that its side walls are very soft and yielding. Not every vacuum is gentle enough to be used there.
A cleaning vacuum for your hot tub or pool should, of course, be comfortable to use. Bear in mind that it takes a certain amount of effort. The vacuum has to be pushed across the floor of the tub, and the buoyancy of the water pulls it upwards – so you have to press down fairly hard. Manual vacuums also require strength in your hands, which have to operate the pump mechanism.
