For whirlpools in the garden, an optimally designed base is the best foundation for your oasis of well-being.
Careful planning of the whirlpool substructure
On the terrace overlooking the garden, up on the roof terrace, in the middle of the garden on the lawn or in the house as part of a home spa - there are basically various ways in which you can set up your Jacuzzi pool:
- freestanding
- partially recessed
- sunk

With all these variants, there are a few important criteria with regard to the whirlpool substructure - they ensure that your whirlpool is stable in the long term and that the entire pool technology (air jets, pumps, heating, etc.) can run smoothly for many years:

- A level floor as a base: You have various requirements when preparing the base. Regardless of the size of your new pool, one thing is always important: a level floor is essential for the substructure of a whirlpool.
- Stability: Whether as a poured concrete foundation or in the form of stone slabs on a gravel bed, a solid base material prevents the pool from losing its ideal stability over time due to its weight or from leaning. Experience has shown that the pool sinks over its length on soft earth or possibly mouldy grass. You can counteract this with good planning.
- Statics: If you are planning to install your outdoor hot tub on the roof terrace or balcony, it is essential to add the total weight of the people bathing in the pool to the weight of the pool filled with water in order to calculate how many tons of load will be generated in total. If the load is too heavy at one point, you can distribute the weight over a larger area by using an appropriately designed pedestal substructure.
When deciding where you want to install your hot tub, you should also make sure that the power connection and a connection to the water pipe are not too far away. It is also advantageous if the hot tub is accessible from all four sides to simplify maintenance of the heater, jets or pumps.
